I’ve never heard of this book, but if Rothfuss loves it, it must be good. Super interesting how the curse hits everyone, even those who seemingly benefit from it. I’ll have to check this one out.

It might be a good one to read with kids and then watch the old animated movie that is apparently a cult classic. I think it is due for a live action remake so I hope someone takes that on soon.
Read it and thoroughly enjoyed it! There’s a lot going on within it. At a first read, the theme of being able or unable to perceive beauty and truth seemed significant. That’s a thread through the whole thing that stood out to me. I’m sure a second read one day will be even better.
The curse on Hagsgate seems to lend itself nicely to Buddhist critique. Nonattachment, participate joyously in the suffering of the world, etc.
Yeah that's a good observation. I found it sad how effective it was in keeping them from trying to take Haggard down.
