Definitely praying for those in the path of the fires. I grew up in Southern California and it was a common occurrence. I have relatives in Colorado; fortunately, they are in Aurora, opposite of the fires. This year was just a so-so year for reading, only a few stood out to me, and many more just o.k. books. Hopefully 2022 will be a better reading year. Happy New Year!
I had to look back at my GR for 2021 to see what books I read. Two of my very few five star books were The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel and Surviving Savannah by Patti Callahan. Historical fiction is my go to favorite genre, so it's no surprise that these were two of my favorites. I read a lot of "fun" books that were good, just not many that stood out or that I remember unless I refresh my memory by looking at my GR challenge for 2021.
