Do you mean the literal first one? Or Rise of the Planet of the Apes? In either case, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes isn't just a peak for the franchise, it might be in the conversation for one of the best sequels of all time.
I'm seeing Kingdom tonight! I finished Dawn and it is pretty dang good. Koba is an excellent villain. I started War but kinda lost interest after the opening battle.
Had such a fun time with Fall Guy and CANNOT WAIT for Twisters. It's the first time a reboot doesn't look extremely soulless/hopeless

I was talking about Rise. I'll have to rewatch Dawn because I don't remember it. Maybe I'm thinking of War.
Agree Dawn is the best, War is forgettable, Kingdom was...fine.
