An episode on Ho would be, as you said, "a hilarious and insane episode!"

I think that more character-focused content and less shoot-em-up in the last season was too much.

I generally prefer books over movies/TV and the Slow Horses series is not different. For me, books can get into the characters heads more and develop the characters' relationships with each other better than visual arts can. IMO.

I am on my 4th book and still have Standing by the Wall and The Secret Hours on my TBR pile.

Totally agree. Season 1 for me is the standard because of how good it was, so maybe my disappointment isn't comparing the book to season 3, but season 1 to season 3. Season 1 took its time and spent time with the characters and set up.

Book 4 is Spook Street (I think) and it was one of my favorites!

I should also mention that Lamb and Taverner (Oldman and Scott Thomas respectively) have a stellar dynamic and there wasn't enough of them this season. I understand that Taverner had to unseat Tierney, but I still missed Lamb vs. Taverner.
