Might be useful to keep the context of where it is mind. In a small mountain town like Crested Butte, having *any* bookstore presence is a fun surprise. I love that it's attached to a coffee shop. And, knowing that it's a small town shop tempers my expectations for selection. For me, a smaller selection means it's more curated, which I don't always mind. Gives ya sense of their taste.
Aside: I visited and enjoyed Book People in Austin, TX last weekend. Classic store with a lot of history. Bought a couple of books and an enamel pin.
Great points Jeremy! I may have to give some bonus points for the attached coffee shop - their cinnamon steamer is a favorite for my girls. We go to Crested Butte every year, and it’s always a highlight to visit Townie. Keep the recs coming!
You know, I don't, actually! They're increasingly rare in the world. But what kind of Midwesterner would I be if I didn't shoutout Rainbow Booksellers in Milwaukee, and Red Balloon and Wild Rumpus (two different stores) in the Twin Cities? Every one is magical, as children's bookstore should be.
Love this idea and will start following! one of my favorite things to do when planning a trip or traveling is to do a search to see what bookstores should be included on the itinerary.
If you ever make it to SW Michigan, I highly recommend Lowery’s – in three Rivers. I Have also heard big things about Kings in Detroit, but have not made it there yet.
I love Townie Books in CB. :)

Thanks Jeremy, we will get these on the map!
Well, this is super fun! I love this idea.
Sarah - you must have some great recs for kid-friendly bookshops. Spill the tea!

Ok this is AMAZING! Quarterly will not be frequent enough for me, but I’ll be patent I guess. Proud to see Boulder Book Store ranks well ❤️.
Hoping you add a few spots to the map! We all know you’ve traveled the world. Tell us what’s good, would ya?!
